Ecopaints was established partly in response to our own difficulty in trying to find a real, environmentally friendly or antiallergenic eco paint – or at least one manufactured in accordance with organic chemistry principles, which rule out the use of petrochemical toxins, pesticides or solvents (known allergic reaction triggers for the chemically sensitive MCS asthma sufferers in the family).

From the moment we tried a natural paint tester we knew we’d found something head and shoulders above the many other so called natural paints we’d experimented with. It provided good coverage, it was easy to use and had a pleasant citrus smell too. In use, difficulty in breathing, itchy watery eyes, streaming nose, headache and nausea ceased to be common experiences when decorating our home - and decorating has almost become a pleasurable task!

To this day, our chosen manufacturer is still the only company which has been willing to answer all our questions and to fully disclose product content in writing. Essentially, the paints are made from natural and organic raw materials e.g. natural wood resins, plant oils and earth pigments. To ensure product integrity and quality, support local farmers and minimise environmental impact, several products also contain organic linseed oil, which is grown within 30km of the factory.

We all like to feel we can trust the people and companies who make the products we buy. Their integrity, products and ethics should be beyond reproach. We certainly like and trust  our manufacturer, which is why, in setting up Ecopaints, we invited them to be our sole supplier, and why we wholeheartedly recommend Auro products.
